Ormeau FC was founded in 2013 by a group of parents who saw the need for a local soccer club in the community. With local council support, they took over an abandoned baseball field on Norfolk Park and turned it into Ormeau Football Club.
Starting with 150 players in teams ranging from Under 6 to Under 12, the Club has expanded to over 500 players, 40 teams and a group of Committee and volunteers who are dedicated to providing a fun, family-friendly and community-focused football Club.
Since it’s very basic beginnings the Club has made improvements to the small demountable Clubhouse, added field lights, irrigated and re-turfed two main fields, added spectator stands, and an equipment compound.
Each year the Committee focuses on improving certain areas of the Club with 2023’s focus being Coach and Player development, and the development of a new clubhouse. With the assistance of Gold Coast City Council, the Club plans to expand its facilities over the next season with a new Clubhouse, change rooms, amenities and increased parking.
