Women’s Football at Ormeau FC

At Ormeau Football Club, we are proud of the continued growth of our women’s and girls’ football programs and the strong community we have built. From our youngest MiniRoos players through to our senior women’s teams, we are committed to providing opportunities for females of all ages and abilities to participate, develop and thrive in football.

Our vision for 2027 is to continue strengthening the girls’ pathway, creating a connected environment where players can develop their skills, build confidence and progress through the age groups towards senior football. We believe every player deserves the opportunity to reach her potential, whether that means enjoying community football, challenging herself in competitive leagues or pursuing higher-level opportunities.

Women’s football at Ormeau FC is about more than what happens on the pitch. It is about building friendships, developing leadership, fostering a sense of belonging and creating an environment where every player feels valued. Through quality coaching, structured development opportunities and a strong club culture, we aim to support our players at every stage of their football journey.

What We Offer

Ormeau FC provides a pathway for girls to progress from grassroots football into competitive youth and senior football, with each age group supporting the next stage of their development.

U9 Girls

Our U9 girls are at the beginning of their football journey. The focus is on developing fundamental skills, learning the basics of the game and building confidence in a fun, supportive environment. We encourage creativity, teamwork and a love for football while helping players establish strong foundations for the years ahead.

U11 Girls

At U11, players continue to build their technical ability and develop a stronger understanding of the game. Training focuses on improving ball control, passing, movement, decision-making and teamwork, while encouraging players to become more confident and independent on the pitch.

U13 Girls

The U13 age group represents an important stage in player development, with greater emphasis on tactical awareness, technical consistency and understanding team structures. Players are encouraged to challenge themselves, take greater responsibility and continue progressing within the club's development pathway.

U15 Girls

At U15, players are supported to refine their technical skills, tactical understanding and overall performance. Training and competition provide opportunities to develop resilience, leadership and discipline, while preparing players for the transition into senior football.

U17 Girls

Our U17 program focuses on preparing players for the next stage of their football journey. With an emphasis on performance, accountability, tactical awareness and individual development, players are encouraged to take ownership of their progression and work towards opportunities within Ormeau FC’s senior women’s program.

Senior Women’s Football

Our senior women’s program provides opportunities for players to continue their football journey in a competitive and welcoming environment. Whether returning to the game, progressing from our junior pathway or joining the club with previous experience, players have the opportunity to represent Ormeau FC, continue developing and contribute to a strong team culture.

We are committed to strengthening the connection between our junior girls’ teams and senior women’s football, creating a clearer pathway for players to transition into the senior game and remain involved in the sport for years to come.
