MiniRoos is a national initiative run by Football Australia (FFA) for children aged U6 to U12. It focuses on small-sided football games, with rules that evolve as players progress through the age groups. The main goals of MiniRoos are skill development and enjoyment of the game. Scores are not kept, so each week offers a fresh experience where everyone can enjoy the game!

Training:
Training schedules are determined by the coach’s availability. While we do our best to accommodate all preferences, this is not always possible.
Once teams are finalised, training days and times will be confirmed and communicated by the club.
Match Days:
Matches are generally played on Saturday mornings
Both Home and Away fixtures throughout the season
Home matches are held at Norfolk Park, Ormeau
Fixtures are released by Football Queensland prior to the start of the season
In the event of a washout, matches may be rescheduled to Sunday mornings
Each team requires a coach, typically a parent of one of the players.
If you’re interested in coaching, please contact the club — all required qualifications are covered by Ormeau FC, and our Junior Coach Coordinator, Cameron Bunney, will provide support.
We also work closely with X-Cel Academy to deliver ongoing coach development workshops and training opportunities throughout the season.
All coaches must:
Register through Squadi
Hold a valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
Each team also requires a manager to assist with team organisation and communication, allowing the coach to focus on football development.
Managers are responsible for:
Coordinating match-day logistics (e.g., snacks, kit washing roster)
Communicating weekly updates to parents
Liaising with other team managers regarding player borrowing in accordance with club policy
Contacting the club if assistance is needed (e.g., team availability or player shortages)
All managers must:
Register through Squadi
Hold a valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
If you’re interested in being a team manager, please email us or call 0450 112 633.
We encourage parents to assist with field setup and pack-down during home matches.
A weekly roster will be shared on the club’s Facebook page, indicating which teams are responsible.
Training will be provided for managers and parents on how to manage this process efficiently.
