MiniRoos is a national initiative run by Football Australia (FFA) for children aged Under 6 to Under 12.
It is designed around small-sided football games with rules that evolve as players progress through the age groups.
The main focus of MiniRoos is skill development, teamwork, and enjoyment of the game.
Scores are not kept for these matches, ensuring every week provides a fun and fresh football experience for all involved.

Training:
Training days and times are determined by coach availability. While we do our best to accommodate preferences, this may not always be possible.
Final training schedules will be communicated once coaches are appointed.
Match Days:
Matches are played on Saturday mornings
Both Home and Away games throughout the season
Home games are played at Norfolk Park, Ormeau
Fixtures are released by Football Queensland closer to the season start
In the event of washouts, matches may be rescheduled to Sunday mornings
Each team requires a coach, typically a parent or club volunteer.
If you are interested in coaching, please contact the club — we cover all required coaching qualification costs and provide full support through our Junior Coach Coordinator, Cameron Bunney.
Ormeau FC also partners with X-Cel Academy to deliver ongoing coaching development, workshops, and practical resources throughout the season.
All coaches must:
Register through Squadi
Hold a valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
Each team also requires a manager to assist with communication and logistics, allowing the coach to focus on player development.
Typical responsibilities include:
Managing the team kit (through a washing roster if needed)
Organising half-time snacks (e.g., fruit, oranges)
Coordinating with other managers to borrow players when required, in line with the club’s player selection policy
Contacting the club if team support is needed
All managers must:
Register through Squadi
Hold a valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
For assistance or to express interest in managing a team, please email admin@ormeaufc.com or call 0450 112 633.
Parents play an important role in the success of our club.
We ask that parents assist with field setup and pack-down during home games.
A roster will be posted weekly on the Ormeau FC Facebook page showing which teams are responsible.
Training will be provided to managers and parents on how to safely and efficiently manage these duties.
If you have any further questions about the MiniRoos (U10–U12) program or the 2026 season, please contact us at admin@ormeaufc.com or call 0450 112 633.
