MiniRoos is a national initiative delivered by Football Australia for children aged U6 to U12. The program uses small-sided football games, with rules and formats that evolve as players progress through the age groups.
At Ormeau FC, our focus is on developing football skills, encouraging teamwork and making the game enjoyable for every player. With an emphasis on participation and development rather than scores or league tables, MiniRoos provides a positive environment for young players to build confidence and a love for football.

Training schedules are determined by coach availability and team requirements. While we do our best to accommodate family preferences, this may not always be possible.
Once teams and coaches are confirmed, training days and times will be communicated by the club.
Matches are generally played on Saturday mornings.
Teams play both home and away fixtures throughout the season.
Home matches are held at Norfolk Park, Ormeau.
Fixtures are released by Football Queensland closer to the start of the season.
In the event of a washout, matches may be rescheduled to Sunday mornings.
Please note that match days and times are subject to the competition draw and may change.
Each team requires a coach, typically a parent or community volunteer.
If you're interested in coaching, please contact the club. Ormeau FC covers the cost of required coaching qualifications, and our Junior Coach Coordinator, will provide support throughout the season.
We also work closely with Xcel Academy to provide coach development workshops, training opportunities and practical resources.
All coaches must:
Register through Squadi.
Hold a valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
Each team also requires a manager to assist with team organisation and communication, allowing the coach to focus on football development.
Managers help with:
Coordinating match-day logistics, including snacks and kit washing rosters.
Communicating weekly updates to parents.
Liaising with other team managers regarding player borrowing in accordance with club policy.
Contacting the club if assistance is needed with team availability or player shortages.
All managers must:
Register through Squadi.
Hold a valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
If you're interested in becoming a team manager, please email admin@ormeaufc.com or call 0450 112 633.
We encourage parents to assist with field setup and pack-down during home matches.
A weekly roster will be shared on the Ormeau FC Facebook page, outlining which teams are responsible. Guidance will be provided to managers and parents to help ensure the process runs safely and efficiently.
If you have any questions about MiniRoos, registration or the 2027 season, please contact admin@ormeaufc.com or call 0450 112 633.
We look forward to another great year of football with our U8 and U9 players at Ormeau FC!
