Miniroos U10 - U12

MiniRoos is a national initiative delivered by Football Australia for children aged Under 6 to Under 12. The program uses small-sided football games, with rules and formats that evolve as players progress through the age groups.

At Ormeau FC, MiniRoos focuses on developing football skills, encouraging teamwork and making football an enjoyable experience for every player. The emphasis is on participation, confidence and development, helping young players build a love for the game.

Training and Match Information

Training

Training days and times are determined by coach availability and team requirements. While we do our best to accommodate family preferences, this may not always be possible.

Final training schedules will be communicated once coaches have been appointed.

Match Days

  • Matches are generally played on Saturday mornings.

  • Teams play both home and away fixtures throughout the season.

  • Home matches are played at Norfolk Park, Ormeau.

  • Fixtures are released by Football Queensland closer to the start of the season.

  • In the event of washouts, matches may be rescheduled to Sunday mornings.

Please note that match days and times are subject to the competition draw and may change.

Coaches

Every team requires a coach, typically a parent or club volunteer. We encourage parents and community members to get involved and help create a positive football experience for our young players.

Ormeau FC covers the cost of required coaching qualifications and provides support through our Junior Coach Coordinator.

The club also partners with Xcel Academy to provide coaching development, workshops and practical resources throughout the season.

All coaches must:

  • Register through Squadi.

  • Hold a valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check).

If you are interested in coaching, please contact the club.

Team Managers

Each team also requires a manager to assist with communication and team organisation, allowing the coach to focus on player development.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the team kit and washing roster, if required.

  • Organising half-time snacks, such as fruit.

  • Liaising with other team managers regarding player availability and borrowing players in accordance with club policy.

  • Contacting the club when additional support is needed.

All managers must:

  • Register through Squadi.

  • Hold a valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check).

If you are interested in managing a team or would like further information, please contact the club at admin@ormeaufc.com or call 0450 112 633.

Parents and Volunteers

Parents play an important role in the success of Ormeau FC, and we appreciate the support of our football community.

Parents may be asked to assist with field setup and pack-down for home matches. A weekly roster will be shared on the Ormeau FC Facebook page, outlining which teams are responsible.

Training and guidance will be provided to managers and parents to help ensure these duties are completed safely and efficiently.
